Questions and Answer

Q. How much fork oil do I put in after swapping the tubes out?
A. Refill with the same amount & weight as stock. No extra oil is needed with the longer tubes.

Q. What if any special tools will I need, if I do the install myself?
A. The tool most people don't have that's a must have is a 14mm bit-drive socket. Not to be confused with a regular 14mm hex bit socket. A good torque wrench that goes to 150 lbs. is a must have too and on some models (like the 04 & up XL) a bearing race removal tool will come in very handy. (some customers have used a dremel tool to remove the race)?

Q. How does the AME system keep the same trail dimensions as a stock bike? If it really does, it makes since the bike would handle right, I just don't understand how it works.
A. One of our customers has written an article that does a very good job of explaining how the AME system works. Ron, also goes over the installation & the test ride. Photos included. Please see The Green Mamba We also have a section on Trail.

Q. How many hours should it take my mechanic to install one of your kits?
A. The manufacturer says 6-8 hours.

Q. Someone told me, if I lower the rear of my bike that this would change the trail dimensions. Is this true?
A. Yes, anytime your lower or raise just one end of the bike, the trail will change. Having said that, many people say that lowering a bike 1 or 2 inches in the rear produced no noticeable change in the handling.

Q. What other parts will I need to buy in order to complete the conversion?
A. The kits are complete with everything you need except fork seals & oil.

Q. Does a longer brake line & speedo cable come with the kit?
A. Yes, we supply top of the line stainless steel braided brake lines, neoprene covered, with chrome connectors. Please advise us if you have longer than stock handlebars,(Apes) we'll make the line as long as needed. (no extra charge) A longer speedo cable is included on bikes so equipped.

Q. Hi , I have been to two different bike shops today and I was told that the chopper kits are illegal here in Western Australia, the reasons being that in Western Australia you cant have a rake bigger than 38 degrees total, I rang the local licensing department and found that if I install one of your kits on my bike I will receive a work order and have to remove it . I am disappointed as I was looking forward to installing the kit.
A1) the rake of the frame isn't changed by the kit
A3) our kits have a different rake of the steering to the tube rake:
The 9° kit has an additional steering rake of 6°
The 14° kit has an additional steering rake of 9°
The 18° kit has an additional steering rake of 12°
So a Dyna Super Glide has 28° you can use a " 14° " kit. The Sportsters have 30° so there you can use a special " 13° "Kit. No problem to make a custom adapter like this.
